Guitar Teacher Thomas Stevens Serving Sugar Land , Missouri City, Stafford, Richmond and Houston

Thomas has been playing guitar for over 25 years and has been teaching guitar for over 9 years. After a false start in seventh grade, Thomas began playing again in high school with renewed interest. Because of this, he knows first hand the problems many beginning guitar students face and strives to balance the more technical aspects of  playing -music reading, theory, and technical knowledge - with the teaching of songs the student will enjoy playing. He has studied guitar with several great players including Paul Chester, Stephan Badreau, Rusty Cooley, Kirk Roberts, and Steve Dewey. He also studied jazz improvisation with local trumpet great Dennis Dotson. Thomas is committed to learning and continues learning as much as possible from books, magazines, videos, recordings, and lessons. He believes that to become proficient on the guitar, one should learn from as many sources as possible.

Thomas received his B.A. from the University of Houston with a major in History and a minor in Music. He also studied music at Howard Payne University, Houston Community College, and North Harris College. His performing experience includes playing rock, jazz, and country music in a variety of bands, and he continues to play as much as possible. He knows that one of the best way to improve as a musician is to play in front of people, and encourages his students to do so.
