Ruben Velasquez developed a love for music at a very young age. Rubens’ interests in singing and playing the piano continued to grow in his years of study as a child.  In April of 2012, Ruben participated in the NATS voice competition and won first place in the Junior Men’s Division. In February 2015, he participated in the North Park Performance Awards as a finalist. Ruben studied at San Jacinto College Central under Dr. Paul Busselberg in voice and Dr. Martha Braswell in piano. In May and July of 2012, he studied Opera in Orvieto, Italy with Dr. Busselberg’s close friend and colleague Dr. Todd Queen from Louisiana State University and Opera director/conductor Nyela Basley from North Park University. Ruben continued his studies at North Park University in Chicago, Illinois with the guidance of Nyela Basney. He has met and worked with directors of the Chicago Lyric Opera such as Michael LaTour, Phillip Kraus and Eric Freidman. Ruben also learned jazz piano from Chicago pianist Chris White. In May of 2015, Ruben graduated from Northpark University as Bachelor's of Arts in Voice.

Success Music Studios is blessed having Ruben as a member of our Music School Teaching Team.  He has a great passion for guiding students to find their talents, skills and joy for the Piano. He has a unique way to guide his vocal students to find the full potential of their Voice.

 Studying Music Lessons with the guidance of Mr. Ruben will surely give all his students confidence and develop them into Successful Musicians. Mr. Ruben teaches both Piano Lessons and Vocal Lessons.
